Fonseka planning to stage attacks on himself - Wimal

Patriotic National Movement leader Wimal Weerawansa, MP, yesterday alleged that Presidential candidate General (retd) Sarath Fonseka was planning to have some attacks carried out on the Opposition as well as himself in a bid to gain sympathy of the general public.

"I earnestly request the general public not to be duped by such tactics," Weerawansa told a press conference at the Mahaweli Centre yesterday.

He also said none of the Presidential candidates of the past had used foul language as Fonseka does. Fonseka has a lot to hide and that was why he lost temper, unable to defend himself, Weerawansa said.

Weerawansa challenged the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan and Fonseka to prove that there was no agreement between them on high security zones, release of LTTE cadres and the north-eat re-merger...
